A special experience for sure is a guided walk through the unique eco-system 'Nationalpark Wattenmeer' (mudflat), directly at our front doors.
You walk bare feet together with an experienced mudflat-guide on the bottom of the ocean, wade through small tidal gullies and will get to know lots of interesting things about the Wattenmeer at the same time.
The town area encompasses an terrain of nearly 9.000ha, still mainly agricultural formed marsh landscape in parts with very original character. A rejuvenating walk along the Weser beach or on the North Sea dyke invites deep breaths of the fresh and clean North Sea air.
